Voices From the Northfield Arts Guild

Perman portraits

The Visual Arts Committee for The Northfield Arts Guild 50th Anniversary Celebration has selected ten individuals in five categories to participate in a project titled “Voices From the Northfield Arts Guild.”

Northfield native and professional photographer Craig Perman created an individual photographic portrait of each participant: Brian Sostek (Dance), Myrna Johnson (Theater), Brendon Etter (Theater), Paula Granquist (Literary Arts), Jan Shoger (Visual Art), John Maakestad (Visual Art), Paul Niemisto (Music), Bob Gregory-Bjorklund (Music), Dorothy Palmquist (Administration/Volunteer), and Jill Enestvedt (Administration/Volunteer).

During the three-week project, the ten artists/volunteers were photographed in their chosen venues: private studios, the NAG dance studio, the NAG Theater and the KYMN Radio studio. Each of the participants was also asked to respond in writing to the question: “How has the Northfield Arts Guild enriched your artistic life?”

The framed portraits and responses will be displayed at the Art in the Park festival on August 15th, and at the Arts Guild’s Center for the Arts until the Beaux Arts Ball on December 19th. The framed 11″ x 17″ prints will be offered for sale at a silent auction in March 2010, with all proceeds benefiting the Guild.
